Never Pay the Ransom Again…

ExaGrid’s “Retention Time-Lock for Ransomware Recovery” utilizes 3 distinct functions:

Immutable data deduplication objects   |  A non-network-facing tier   |  Delayed delete requests

…and it’s already built in.

Never Panic. ExaGrid has the only non-network-facing tiered backup storage solution with delayed deletes and immutable deduplication objects. This unique approach ensures when a ransomware attack occurs, data can be easily recovered or VMs can be booted up from the ExaGrid Tiered Backup Storage system. Not only can the primary storage be restored, but all retained backups remain intact.

This One-of-a-Kind feature prevents hackers from directly attacking your backup target and holding both your production and backup data hostage. Now you have the power and control to make your data available without costly downtime and expensive ransom payments.

Tiered Backup Storage

ExaGrid provides Tiered Backup Storage with a unique Landing Zone and scale-out architecture. The landing zone enables the fastest backups, restores, and instant VM recoveries. The scale-out architecture includes full appliances in a scalable system and ensures a fixed-length backup window as data grows, eliminating expensive and disruptive forklift upgrades.

ExaGrid helps IT organizations solve two of the most pressing issues they face today: how to protect and manage growing data, and how to do so at a lower cost. ExaGrid does this by ensuring that its solutions address some fundamental requirements:

  • provide the shortest possible backup window that is 3X faster than other solutions;
  • ensure a fixed-length backup window despite increasing data volumes;
  • make it quick and easy to restore or recover data – up to 20X faster than competing systems;
  • provide global replication across private, hybrid, and public clouds;
  • deliver efficient long-term retention and disaster recovery RPO;
  • do all of this, and more, with a scale-out evergreen approach and lowest TCO.

ExaGrid Heterogeneously Supports a Variety of Backup Applications

Shortest Backup Windows and Fastest Restores

ExaGrid writes backups directly to a disk landing zone, avoiding inline processing and ensuring the highest possible backup performance, which results in the shortest backup window. Adaptive Deduplication performs deduplication and replication in parallel with backups while providing full system resources to the backups for the shortest backup window. Available system cycles are utilized to perform deduplication and offsite replication for an optimal recovery point at the disaster recovery site. Once complete, the onsite data is protected and immediately available in its full un-deduplicated form for fast restores, VM Instant Recoveries, and tape copies while the offsite data is ready for disaster recovery.

Unique Scale-Out Architecture

The ExaGrid system can easily scale to accommodate data growth. ExaGrid’s computing software makes the system highly scalable, and when plugged into a switch, appliances of any size or age can be mixed and matched in a single system with capacities of up to a 2PB full backup plus retention and an ingest rate of up to 432TB per hour. Once virtualized, they appear as a single system to the backup server, and load balancing of all data across servers is automatic.

Industry-Leading Customer Support

The ExaGrid system was designed to be easy to set up and maintain, and ExaGrid’s industry-leading customer support team is staffed by trained, in-house level 2 engineers who are assigned to individual accounts. The system is fully supported, and was designed and manufactured for maximum uptime with redundant, hot-swappable components. All upgrades and releases are included in maintenance, and all systems are equipped with proactive health status monitoring.

Any ExaGrid appliance can be mixed and matched in the same scale-out system with any other size or age appliance, allowing customers to buy what they need as they need it. This pay-as-you-grow model allows up to 32 appliances in a single scale-out system.
